Veterinary Surgeon Position



Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is looking for a new opportunity to join our team of 3 vets, 6 qualified nurses, 4 student nurses and 7 receptionists at our friendly independent small animal practice in New Mills and Buxton?

The Practice
We are an RCVS accredited independent small animal practice.
Facilities include, amongst other things, full Idexx lab, CR radiography, ultrasound, ECG, BP, a sterile theatre, separate dental and radiography rooms and infusion pumps for all IVFT. We have certificate holders in orthopaedics & soft tissue surgery & a visiting cardiologist
The branch practice at Buxton is a consult and routine surgical procedure practice and is supported by a full time reception and nursing team.

We have a Pet Health Club scheme, promote pet insurance, are providing new structured Nursing Clinics and looking to expand our client base to provide the highest level of care available.

Our Out Of Hours service is provided by Vets Now. They take all out of hours calls after 8pm weekdays and 5pm weekends
The vet and nurse are however responsible for overnight in-patient care.

The Team
An experienced clinical and support team who work together on a flexible rota to provide high quality veterinary medicine and surgery.
The 4 vet practice is supported by 10 nursing staff and 7 receptionists whilst senior team members make up the executive team who continually plan the strategic direction of the business.

We have a “Continuous Improvement System” in place at Grove Veterinary Group, which means that everyone has a say in how the business can improve and evolve; we hold regular meetings and discuss new ideas together and create protocols and procedures.

Clinical and personal CPD is actively encouraged.

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to assist us in our commitment to provide our patients with an excellent quality of both clinical and preventative healthcare.
Ideally the successful candidate will fulfill the following criteria:
We are looking for a vet who:
• Has at least 3 years’ experience in a small animal practice
• Has good clinical ability
• Is a good communicator
• Is keen to provide excellent client and patient care
• Willing to support any marketing projects
• Able to work alongside the other veterinary surgeons on a rota basis covering evenings and weekend shifts too.
